Bubbleology is at 23 Cromwell Place. But just what is Bubbleology?  Bubble Tea is the name given to the wide variety of refreshing flavoured fruit teas and milk teas served ice cold or piping hot with chewy natural tapioca balls that you suck up through a big fat straw!

Yum – It’s like a quirky snack and drink in one! The tapioca balls are sometimes referred to as ‘Pearls’ or ‘Boba’, which some people say over time has evolved in to the word ‘Bubble’ – isn’t it interesting how language can do that? However the true origins of the name come from the small floating bubbles that are created by the vigorous shaking involved in making Bubble tea. We have a specialist shaking machine that times this process to perfection!

Their collection is only enough for you to try a different drink every day for more than a month… (well that’s if you try them both hot and cold). They’ve got 12 Milk teas and 10 Fruit teas at the moment and are constantly looking to discover new flavours, and remember that you can be a Mixologist and try your own flavour combinations for an even tastier brew!

The company does Event Tastings and is always happy to talk to those seeking a career in their world: follow this link for more.

The origins of bubble tea are found in Taiwan, where the drink was invented in the early 1980’s. Just as we in the UK were being confounded by Rubiks Cubes and recording new romantic mix-tapes for our friends, our counterparts in Taiwan were busy chewing and slurping the new craze that was already starting to take the country and the rest of the world by storm. The next step in tea-volution had begun!

This new phenomenon spread rapidly to other Asian countries before sneaking through the back door of the China Towns all over North American and Australia.

Since the early days of it’s inception, this delicious art has become a science with the kind of strict rules of preparation only usually found in university biology departments or in the ways of the samurai! After back-breaking research and mouth-watering analysis we at Bubbleology are very proud to present to you true, authentic Taiwanese Bubble Tea… in London!

With a ‘base’ of green tea, black/red tea or white tea (all rich with antioxidants), our fruit teas are infused with natural fruit flavourings, as are our milk teas which some people describe as a nudge along the evolutionary scale towards a milkshake. To discover what they mean, you’ll just have to try it for yourself.
